Saturday, our board member Emily Gallagher led a wonderful tour through Greenpoint to explore its rich history, beautiful architecture, and not so beautiful environmental legacy. The tour was made even more wonderful with everyone contributing their own personal history and knowledge about the neighborhood.
Sunday kicked off the Williamsburg leg of the tour with NAG board member Ward Dennis. Ward shared his extensive knowledge of the neighborhood, and sparked an interesting discussion of what the toxic aftermath of the neighborhood’s industrial history means for the current wave of incoming residents.
