We’re hosting a NAG Screening of Blue Vinyl at Nitehawk on March 1, 7pm.
Come for the film (the world’s first toxic comedy!) and the awesome food, snacks and drinks, and stay for a Q&A with the film’s co-director Judith Helfand, NAG Boardmember Mike Schade and Greenpoint leader Laura Risi Hofmann.
We’ll talk about how the issues discussed in the film connect with Greenpoint’s legacy of industrial pollution – namely the NuHart state Superfund site – and how we can work together to fight for a healthier community. This plant made vinyl siding here in Greenpoint – and today has polluted the groundwater with up to 60,000 gallons of phthalates as well as TCE and PCB’s.
Watch the trailer, and get your tickets now before it’s too late! http://www.nitehawkcinema.com/movie/blue-vinyl/
