Lentol Looks to Tame McGuinness

Assembyman Joe Lentol wants to have speeding cameras installed on McGuinness Boulevard to cut down on out of control drivers on Greenpoint’s boulevard of death. NAG has partnered with Transportation Alternatives and others to document the excessive speeding and other infractions that occur regularly on McGuinness, and we welcome Assemblyman Lentol’s support for our efforts to make the street safe for everyone.


McGuinness Boulevard is (Still) Out of Control

The McGuinness Boulevard Working Group released a study yesterday showing that two-thirds of drivers on Greenpoint’s little highway are speeding – many excessively so. Between 2005 and 2009, there were 57 crashes involving pedestrians along McGuinness Boulevard, almost 10% of which were fatal. NAG – together with Transportation Alternatives, CB1 and local residents – is part of the Working Group. McGuiness Blvd Memorial Walk — Part of the 7th Annual NYC Memorial Ride & Walk The NYC Street Memorial Project will hold the 7th Annual Memorial Ride and Walk on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
