NAG is partnering with Riverkeeper to host its annual “Riverkeeper Sweep” event to cleanup the waterfront along East River State Park!
We need YOU to come out on Saturday, May 9th to participate in one of 90+ cleanups and other projects from Red Hook, Brooklyn to Troy. During the 2014 Riverkeeper Sweep over 1,900 volunteers removed 31 tons of debris from the Hudson River Estuary and planted hundreds of trees.
NAG’s local Riverkeeper Sweep event will be on Saturday May 9th 10:30am-1:00pm at East River State Park, right outside NAG’s office at 110 Kent Ave at N8th in Williamsburg.
Registration for the 2015 Riverkeeper Sweep is now open! Visit riverkeeper.org/sweep to register and learn more.
The timing of this cleanup is particularly critical in the aftermath of the CitiStorage fire, which caused debris and paper to scatter and pollute the waterfront. Plus, it’s a great chance to get to know your neighbors that care about the waterfront. We hope you can join us to help clean our local waterways!
