The talks are purposefully short so that you’ll have plenty of time to grab a drink and talk directly with the experts and your neighbors.

This happy hour will be hosted by NAG organizer Jennie Romer and will feature short (5 minute) presentations by:
– Laura Rosenshine, compost and restaurant sustainability consultant and founder of Common Ground Compost, will present about sustainability and compost! Common Ground Compost is the consultant that will be working with NAG’s “Reduce Reuse Recycle Restaurant!” grant project.
– Jens Rasmussen, a Board Member at the North Brooklyn Boat Club, will present about the club and let you know how you can start boating in Newtown Creek. The North Brooklyn Boat Club is a community organization that provides recreational and educational access, on canoes and kayaks, to the waterways of the Greenpoint/Williamsburg Penninsula.
– Luke Ohlson, NAG Board Member and Senior Organizer at Transportation Alternatives, will give some background on TransAlt and talk about projects in Greenpoint and Williamsburg.
– A member of Organizations United for Trash Reduction & Garbage Equity (O.U.T.R.A.G.E.) will talk about how they got their name and about their upcoming study of trucks in North Brooklyn.
